Have you ever wondered “What’s next?”  In Junior High Ministry our message always focuses on Jesus Christ, but our students are ever-changing.

What they like changes.  What they talk about changes.  What is cool changes.  Sometimes these things can change on a daily basis, so to keep up with them is quite a challenge for a Jr. High youth leader.

This Weekend I had the opportunity to take some of my students to “TWELVE” (a Jr. High Retreat at Hanging Rock Christian Assembly).  While we were there we got to experience a range of worship experiences along with some excellent teaching.  We participated in Small Groups and got to share about our lives.  This is kind of the usual when it comes to Jr. High Worship until now.

Dubstep is a new form of artistry that brings students together to Worship through performance and dance in a new way.  My eyes were opened to a transition from the old to the new with my first Dubstep experience.  I had the opportunity to share in this experience with “Dustin Driftwood and the Catfish Crew“.  If you have never heard of Dubstep, then I strongly suggest you check it out.  I’m sure your students are!  This can take your students down a path to God, or if we ignore it they may get led astray by this new fad.

Always be aware of what is happening in the lives of our Jr. High students.  What do you think?  How does this affect you and your ministry?

Nice post. I learn something totally new and
challenging on sites I stumbleupon everyday. It will always be useful to read articles from other authors and practice
a little something from other sites.
