What a wonderful day we had yesterday.  At rec time yesterday our family group was to go repelling.  I was tired, and really didn’t want to go, but I decided to do it so my students would do it too.  We got there and got ready, and it ended up that the student that I thought would need my encouragement the most went first.  That was awesome.  We did encourage him a lot, but he did it.  He was so excited to have accomplished this. We had a great time repelling.  I did repel, and I made it all the way down safely.

Last night we had a guest speaker come to camp.  He spoke on U-Turn!  He talked a lot about if you are on God’s side or Satan’s side.  He said if you are playing around with Satan’s side then we need to turn around and go the other direction.  He did a great job, and we had several students respond with the desire to be followers of Jesus.  We had students from my church and from my family group respond.  It is incredible to see students making decisions for Jesus, and if you didn’t already know it.  This is a goal in my ministry.  I want to see students making life changing decisions for Jesus.

After this time we got to do one of my favorite activities.  I was able to lead our students in an incredible game of GLOW-IN-THE-DARK DODGEBALL!  We had a blast.  The girls played first and we got ourselves a girls champion.  Then the boys came in and we got a boys champion.  Then we brought everyone back in to have the championship round. Boys against girls.  I was so proud of the boys team as they decided on their own to play left handed so they wouldn’t hurt any of the girls.  They were not suggesting that the girls were weak.  They were just showing respect for the girls.  The girls one and the boys were great sports about it.

Then we went to my favorite campfire of our time here.  My wife Molly spoke and she shared about her relationship with her parents.  She shared about some mistakes she made with her own parents, and she shared what the  Bible says about honoring our parents.  It was great and we had some students that really needed to hear what she said, and they responded to her message.

Over all it was just an incredible day at camp.  We have another incredible day planned today and we are excited to see what God has planned for today.  Please continue to pray for these students, and pray for all of us as we get tired as the week goes on.
