I sit here in my office wondering why do I do this.  Some days we feel like we work so hard to make something special happen.  We try so hard to create the perfect moment when everyone can respond.  We orchestrate this to the finest detail only to have somebody else mess it up.  Somebody ruins the moment or doesn’t do their job and you just end up frustrated.

Sometimes in ministry we face a difficult task of serving God in everything we do and Trusting Him with the rest.  There are things that are just completely out of our control.  Recently I was working on a big project for our church, and I experienced some of this frustration with some of the areas that were out of my control.  I prefer to be in control of everything, especially in Junior High Ministry.  Where is my trust in God when I try to do everything?

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 26:4
Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

Where is my trust?  Who am I trusting in ME or GOD?  This can be a big problem for many people in ministry.  We must make sure we trust in God for everything.  I did a retreat this weekend and in hindsight I realized that I was the guy upfront almost the entire time.  Where is my trust in God!  We must allow others to do ministry and learn about ministry as we have in the past.

Look at your fellow leaders.  Allow them to speak.  Allow them to make decisions.  Allow them to make mistakes.  We can all look back at our greatest learning experience, usually it is a big mistake we made or almost made.  Allow your leaders that opportunity as well.

Over time you will find yourself less frustrated and more trusting.
